Weatherization Program

The goal of the Weatherization Program is to reduce heating costs for low income families by improving the energy efficiency of their homes while ensuring their health and safety.
Weatherization services in Beaver County are provided by the Housing Authority of the County of Beaver to both homeowners and renters.
Program measures include but are not limited to the following:

  • Caulking
  • Weather-stripping
  • Insulate attic and sidewalls/li>
  • Replacement of broken glass
  • Insulating the hot water tank
  • Wrapping water pipes in unheated areas

DETERMINATION OF INCOME

A dwelling shall be eligible for the Weatherization Program providing it is occupied by a family that meets at least one of the following:

    •  Family income is at or below 200% of the federal poverty guidelines; or
    •  Family contains a member who has received cash assistance payments under Title IV (Aid to Families with Dependent Children) or Title XVI (Supplemental Security Income); or
    •  Family certified eligible for energy assistance
